Murphy’s Outlaws

Since 2001, Columbus School for Girls (CSG) has participated in the FIRST Robotics Program, a program whose purpose is to bring together the nation’s leading companies and universities in a united effort to win young minds to the wonders of science and technology. CSG’s FIRST Robotics team, Team 677 Murphy’s Outlaws, helps to promote engineering and STEM in the CSG and surrounding communities and gives team members hands-on engineering experience.

Teaming up with the Ohio State University (OSU) engineering students, team members get a hands-on, inside look at an engineer’s profession. In six action-packed weeks, our team of high school students and OSU mentors work together to brainstorm, design, construct and test a robot. Every year Team 677 travels to competition events where our autonomous and remote-controlled robot competes in FIRST Robotics tournaments against teams from across the globe.
